Do I need insurance to start my driving lessons?

When taking driving lessons with a professional driving instructor, their car is typically covered by their insurance (ours is) for the purpose of teaching learners. If you plan to practice driving with a family member or friend's car outside of official driving lessons, you'll need to make sure the car is insured for your use as a learner driver. This can often be done by adding you as a named driver to the existing insurance policy or getting a short-term learner driver insurance policy.
